Spring

Josie LOVED Easter this year! She was really excited about our neighborhood Easter Egg hunt on the days leadbing up to it, but was a little timid when it began. She ended up getting more than enough eggs. She did much better than last year, when we had to practically beg her to pick any up.

I forgot to get Lilah something for Easter. What kind of mother does this? I guess it shows you how important the Holiday is to me. I still felt bad however, and threw a few things in her basket last minute.

The only matching outfits they have. Josie picked them out, she just fell in love with the Mermaid on the shirt. :)

Mother's Day

Russ did some interpreting at the PBR when it came to town. Here is with Silvano Alves, the rider he was working with. Russ was really excited to do it and even more excited that he was getting payed for it. He had a great time.

Winter Months

I'm trying to play catch up and write about the year up to now, and am having a hard time remembering much, so here's a couple things I can remember.
Josie gave her first talk as a sunbeam in February. We practiced with her every day for a week before... she had it memorized. When I got up in Primary with her to give her talk she stood there silently. When I whispered in her ear for her to say it she said loudly in the microphone, 'No!'. So needless to say, I gave her talk. It's okay, hopefully next time it will go a little better.
(This is what her talk was: 'Jesus loves us. He wants us to obey. When we obey we are happy.')
In March Josie got her first bike. For several months she would tell a story that went something like this...'Once upon a time there was a little girl named Josie who had a Light De Queen bike.' And that's the whole story. So she'd been dreaming about a Light De Queen aka Lightning McQueen bike for quite some time. We were really excited to get it for her. She got the matching helmet, bell and horn as well. She was a little scared to actually ride it for quite a while and went so slow that it was almost painful but she's starting to ge the hang of it finally, kind of.

December 2011

This was our first Christmas morning in our own home, which was a little bit sad but very exciting for me. I can't believe it's my turn to be the mom.... where does the time go? Josie was beyond excited this year about Santa, the christmas tree, christmas etc. We had to drive around the neighborhood everytime we came home so Josie could look at the lights. She was pretty dissapointed when people started taking them down.
Josie's favorte christmas present was a little metal shopping cart. She piled all her toys into it and pushed it around the house like a bag lady for days.
Lilah is almost 6 months old, she can sit up all by herself but is nowhere near crawling, she hates to be on her tummy. She had her first meal of baby food on Christmas day and seemed to like it okay. It was a better experience than Josie's first meal. Josie hated baby food from the beginning.
Russ and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. We went to dinner at Chili's, very exciting, I know. I'm not sure how we've gotten to 5 years already, but somehow we're here. We have been extremely blessed these past 5 years and I'm glad I can say that I love my Russy even more now than I did the day I married him.
